Dieter's Dream Water

Happy New Year to everyone. Wishing you all the best in 2013!
What better way to start the New Year than to get back into eating healthy. For me I start with increasing the water I drink, but who wants just boring old water. Let's add some healthy ingredients to water, make a big batch and sip all day. This water tastes fantastic and has ZERO calories. Cucumbers, lemons, parsley and cilantro also have some great detoxing properties.

Ingredients:
  • large pitcher of cold filtered water
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cucumber thinly sliced
  • small bunch cilantro (stems cut off)
  • small bunch Italian parsley (stems cut off)
  • handful of frozen cranberries
Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate. I make mine the night before so the flavour from the ingredients is stronger. Continue to refill with water for 2 days.

  2. This is so pretty! What is the purpose of the frozen cranberries? If I can buy them fresh can I use them?

    1. thanks Brooke, fresh cranberries will work as well, I use the cranberries as a garnish, although after the water sits a while the frozen cranberries do release flavour. Sipping pretty drinks always seem to taste better!

  3. Are you supposed to eat the fruit?

    1. I usually don't because it gets a bit soggy as it is in the water. I like to make my water the night before so it has lots of time to release the flavour and nutrients from the veggies and fruit.

    1. I usually make a large pitcher the night before, and then sip it all the next day, refilling with water throughout the day. If the fruit is not soggy you should be able to use the same fruit for 2 days.
